Description:
The following error message appears when backing up your device, or when restoring a backup:
"iMazing has found corrupted or missing files in your backup made on (backup date) (...)"
Solution:
If even minor files are missing in a backup, iMazing and iTunes will say that the backup is corrupted and cannot be restored.
This can happen if your current backup (made with iTunes or iMazing) is corrupted or incomplete. As backups are differential, a corrupted current backup will prevent further backup operations from completing. A corrupted backup cannot be restored.
If the error appears during backup
- Delete the latest version of your backup, then back up again OR
- Delete the entire backup, then back up again.
If the error appears during restore
- Try repairing the backup.
- Select an earlier version of the backup to restore from the backup list.
Instructions - Delete backup(s):
