Install App (.ipa) - "Could not inspect the application package"

Description:

The following error messages appears while restoring an app (.ipa):

  • "kAMDPackageInspectionFailedError"
  • "Could not inspect the application package"

Solution:

This error message appears when you try to restore an incomplete .ipa file. The file might contain data, but not the actual application.

You need to restore a different .ipa file either downloaded from the App Store, or extracted from a different source device.
