Description:
After running iMazing the "Back Up" button is greyed out in iTunes. It is not possible anymore to launch a backup in iTunes.
Solution
When iMazing is running, it disables the iTunes "Back Up" button to prevent simultaneous backups which can lead to corrupted backups. When quitting iMazing, iMazing will reenable the "Back Up" button.
If you run iTunes and quit iMazing, unfortunately iTunes will not be automatically notified that this button is reenabled, you need to quit iTunes and relaunch it so iTunes can see the change in iTunes settings.
If iMazing has quitted unexpectedly or has been force quit, the button will remain greyed out.
The solution is to:
- Quit iTunes
- Restart computer
- Launch iMazing
- Quit iMazing
- Launch iTunes
The "Back Up" button in iTunes should now be functional.
If the problem persists on Windows follow these instructions:
- Quit iTunes
- Click Start (Windows Start Menu).
- In the Search or Run line, type cmd, and press Enter.
- "%ProgramFiles%\iTunes\iTunes.exe" /setPrefInt DeviceBackupsDisabled 0
- Tap enter to execute this command
- Relaunch iTunes
