Which domains does iMazing connect to, and why?

Like most modern applications, iMazing will connect to various domains during normal operation. Your personal data is never uploaded, and iMazing can and will operate fine offline, with some obvious limitations such as the inability to update or download apps and iOS updates.

If you are deploying iMazing in a corporate environment, you will need to whitelist at least api.imazing.com in order to activate the app. We suggest you whitelist all domains listed below for access to iMazing's entire feature set.

 

1. iMazing

  • License validation
  • Checking for iMazing updates and downloading them

Additional info:

No personal data is uploaded to iMazing servers. Data browsed or extracted from your iOS devices reside in the Cache folder of iMazing on your computer, and in the backups you make with iMazing on the storage location of your choice.

2. Apple

Functions:

  • Downloading apps

3. Microsoft Store

Domains:

  • tlu.dl.delivery.mp.microsoft.com

Ports:

Functions:

  • Downloading Apple drivers and other Apple or Microsoft components required to run iMazing on Windows

4. Microsoft App Center

Functions:

  • Crash reporting
  • Anonymized analytics when user opted-in to participate in the the "Customer Experience Program"

Additional info:

We use Microsoft App Center to collect crash reports and anonymized app-cycle related data. Strictly no personal data is uploaded to Microsoft's servers in the process.

5. Google and Baidu

Functions:

  • Determining network availability 

Additional info:

If iMazing fails to contact its activation server on api.imazing.com, it will perform a sanity check and attempt to reach Google or Baidu. No information is exchanged with Google and Baidu servers – iMazing strictly performs a reachability check.
