Activation Issues

To validate a license's activation number, iMazing needs to connect to it's activation server. This is required only once per computer.

In some cases, connection to the activation server may fail:

  • An error message such as "Error communicating with server" may pop up.
  • The activity indicator to the right of the text field may keep spinning and nothing will happen.

If this is the case, please follow the troubleshooting steps below:

1. Internet connection

Make sure you have a robust internet connection.

2. Firewall / Antivirus

Especially on Windows, extra firewall / antivirus software may block iMazing's attempt to connect. Simply whitelist, or alternatively disable your firewall/antivirus just for the time it takes to activate iMazing.

Note that Windows has an excellent built-in firewall that, if regularly kept updated, is in the vast majority of cases enough to protect your computer.

3. Proxies

If you connect to the internet through a proxy, the proxy may need to be configured to let iMazing through. Please write to us directly and we will help.
